"If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome." -- Anne Bradstreet
I recently came across this quote by Anne and was thankful for the timely reminder.
When the storms blow icy cold around us
the surety of God's never-give-up love shelters and warms us.
When heaviness of pressures, struggles, or failures bend us low
knowing He is with us bends us to Him.
Sometimes just holding on through the winter of our days is the best we can do. And that's okay. Because the hope of a with-us God carries us through the survival into quiet waters of refreshment. The refreshment we dreamed of all winter long.
