The crowds were filling the hall. Familiar faces, old friends, interested people. There in the midst of the commotion, a man approached and introduced himself. He would be getting his electrical certificate for the state of North Carolina and wondered if he could be of service. He was a man just testing the waters of God, but he came offering what he could. The ordinary offering of a willing heart being wooed by an extraordinary God. A heart not knowing he was an answer to a very specific prayer.
When was the last time you encountered heaven dressed in ordinary clothes? All those prayers you'd been sending up, though they seemed unheard, your knees worn from the asking. Yet, you continued to seek the God of heaven because there was nowhere else to turn. He alone was able to make a way. Then, quite unexpectedly, in the midst of an ordinary moment, you were taken aback by the answer arriving. So simply, so humbly. Nothing like you imagined, but there it was. Heaven in the ordinary.
At Whisper Mountain, we do a lot of asking of God. The camp is His so we figure He'll need to do the providing and leading. Though we waver more than we care to admit, we have seen God answer specific prayers in specific ways time and time again. The confirming of His with-us-ness keeps us stepping one foot in front of the other. We can't get over how personal, amazing and good He is!
Friend, if you are wavering, allow us to encourage you to keep turning to the only One who is able. He will answer you. When He does, heaven in the ordinary will bring you to your knees in awe!
