Do you remember the first time you flew on an airplane? Looks quite different now then back when I first flew, but I remember the fascination and excitement that came with such a special adventure!
On our recent trip to Denver (thank you Shaun's mom!), Tegan experienced his first time flying! He was giddy, patient, cooperative with his eyes wide open to everything happening around him. At one of our security checks, the person looking over our tickets and IDs asked him, "What's your name?" Tegan immediately stood up straight and stated proudly and clearly, "Te-gan Wer-ner." His mannerism and very grown up pride in stating who he was made everyone around us chuckle!
I've been thinking about that lately, how joyful and confident he was being him, the son of Shaun and Cassi, the brother of Kinsley and Selah, an in-the-moment passenger boarding an adventure of a lifetime! As a Jesus girl, I'm often completely distracted with all I'm not, all I'm carrying, all I'm rushing to keep up with. Sadly, I'm more often than not missing out on the adventure that is my life! All Jesus and I both want for me is the freedom to be joyfully His, a spark of life contagious to those around me. What's holding me back? What's holding you back? I say it's time we lay it all down and discover the simple pleasure of just being His!
