goober or not

Sometimes we can be goobers and get ourselves into a messy situation.

Other times, we can't be sure how we got hooked!

Whatever the case, entanglements often happen quickly and with ease. Not so quick or easy is the untangling. the unhooking.

When I find I'm in a mess and all my efforts to detangle only create bigger problems, the only place I know to go is to my Daddy. He's my Great Detangler, removing the chaotic knots distracting and witholding me from true life. He's my Divine Detacher, unhooking the talons of pain stifling me from the freedom I was made for. He's a more patient parent than I, working with me through my squirming and whining and impatience.

Goober or not, you and I were made for freedom.

Are you entangled? Won't you let him free you?

While the guys were on the water down in Florida for the fishing tournament, the rest of us were doing a little fishing of our own!

Though I won't bore you with photographic evidence, all who fished caught fish! Good fun! I totally get why the Ingall's, Andy Griffith, and the many others throughout time spent their pastimes fishing (aside from the whole eating thing!). The frustration I felt when I tired of helping a boy who has to do everything himself (ahhh, the tangles!) was worth it when the fish jumped on his line! He was so proud!

The fishing tournament also saw great success! I don't have all the stats for you now, but money was raised, scholarships are already being given out for the Breakaway Kids, and the anglers had a great time on the water! Check out this one minute teaser the video guy put together.

Now that the background music is set, I'm happy to announce the reunion of me and my camera! (I'll happy dance for us all!) We've been getting reacquainted over the weekend! Should you be so brave, you are about to undergo a little photo upchuck! 

(Just be glad I didn't show you the hundreds I took!) What a sigh of relief to be clicking again! And just in time to keep you up on all the chaos happenings of summer camp! There's nothing quite like it for me, this clicking! I'm finding new perspective already!
